Do you have a restaurant you love?

If you know a restaurant owner, manager or employee, consider asking them to join restaurants around the country to raise money for the UNICEF Tap Project.

During the week of March 16, culminating on World Water Day, March 22, 2008, restaurants across the country will ask their customers to donate $1 for the tap water they usually enjoy for free. All of the money raised will be used to provide clean and safe drinking water to millions of children world-wide. Considering that more than 1.5 million children die each year as a result of not having clean water or adequate sanitation this effort will play a critical role in children’s lives.

Your personal connection is the best way to recruit restaurants to participate in the UNICEF Tap Project. Visit www.tapproject.org to register and receive the materials needed to sign up your favorite restaurant. Or you can contact Sheila Malcolm at: sheilamalcolm@comcast.net or at (303) 499-5933.

To help us get the word out and to promote the Tap Project in local communities, join us on Feb 9, 2008, from 9:30 am to 2 pm, at St. Mary’s Academy in Denver for a volunteer training day. A bus will be provided from Boulder leaving at 8am from the Basemar shopping center at Baseline and Broadway. By attending the training, you will develop a solid background about UNICEF and the Tap Project, recruiting restaurants and promoting Tap to friends and organizations. Meet representatives from the U.S. Fund, as well as the four City Coordinators and lots of like-minded volunteers. Please contact Sheila Malcolm at sheilamalcolm@comcast.net or at (303) 499-5933 to join us.
